UFOS have been sighted recently hovering around art galleries and craft exhibitions and intelligence reports suggest immenent landings. Shoppers, having heard rumours that they make ideal gifts, are making contingency plans. So
are these gorgeous objects extra-terrestrial in origin? Helen Hastings,
who is a self-professed expert on the subject, says "Don't
be silly. The 'F' word is not 'flying', it is 'FELTED'!! They are
magnetic brooches, called 'ITZAS', and I make them myself using
wet-felting techniques. Each Itza is unique and has a powerful back
magnet so it can also be used as a scarf button which won't damage
fine fabrics. They come in an array of colours and textures and
are considered by many to be mini works of wearable art"
